Using EzCutter
What is EzCutter?
EzCutter is an online YouTube clipping tool. Paste a link, choose a start and end time, and download just that part as an MP4 — or the audio as an MP3. There's nothing to install.
Do I need an account?
No. Free clips and MP3 downloads work without signing in. Signing in with Google is only needed to redeem and use a Supporter code.
Which timestamp formats can I type?
Seconds (95), minutes and seconds (1:35) or hours, minutes and seconds (0:01:35). You can paste chapter times straight from a video description.
Can I make vertical clips for Shorts, Reels and TikTok?
Yes. Choose the 9:16 aspect ratio and slide the crop window to keep the subject in frame. There's also a 1:1 square option.
Does EzCutter work on phones?
Yes. It runs in mobile browsers on Android and iPhone, and files save to your downloads or Files app.
Quality and limits
What's included for free?
Video clips up to three minutes at 720p or 1080p, full-length MP3 audio at 128 kbps, and 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 framing. No watermark.
What does Supporter unlock?
Unlimited clip length, 1440p and 4K video, 256 and 320 kbps MP3, and early access to updates. It's a 30-day pass activated with a code in Settings.
Why is my clip lower quality than I chose?
The original video wasn't uploaded at that resolution. EzCutter automatically uses the best version YouTube has.
Does cutting reduce quality?
Not in the original 16:9 frame — the video is copied without re-encoding. Cropping to 9:16 or 1:1 re-encodes at high quality.
Rights and privacy
Can I clip any YouTube video?
Use EzCutter for videos you own, openly licensed videos, or content you have permission to reuse. You're responsible for respecting creators' rights and YouTube's terms. Private and some age-restricted videos won't load.
Do you keep my clips?
No. Clips are processed temporarily so you can download them and are deleted shortly afterwards. See the privacy policy for details.
